Versa 2 is not properly tracking my exercises with GPS

Hi;

my Fitbit Versa 2 exercise app, like walk or run, will only work and record gps tracking if the app is open on my I phone. As soon as I close the app connected indication turns into connecting and never connects unless reopened on phone.

also , the auto detect after 10 minutes never works, I have tried this with different I phones, did a million resets.

But they did not offer me a solution neither an explanation, the matter was concerning synchronization of Versa 2 with an iPhone , but they did not have an iPhone and most cases neither a Versa 2 watch, so they could not understand the problem we have. They were very polite individuals but your support sucks as they are not supported,
