Versa 2 is not swiping

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This is my 3rd Fitbit and my first Versa 2...  I had 2 Ionics..  I bought this Versa 2 when they first came out and have loved it!  Now not so much!  The swiping capability is completely gone...  I’ve turned it on and off multiple times with no luck..  I can’t do a factory reboot because I CAN’T swipe!!!!!  Maybe y’all should make it so we can get into the settings app on our phone!!!!  Everyone has said the fix is to get a replacement which I don’t mind trying..  We pay a lot of money for these devices only for them to stop working less than 6 months of having them!  I love this Versa I just want one that won’t break down!!!!!  Fitbit, please help!!!!!!

Welcome back to the Fitbit Community, @Jennay325.

I've moved your post to the Versa Smartwatches board so we can keep our forums organized.

I am sorry to hear your Versa 2 is not swiping. Thanks for trying to resolve this and I am here to help. I understand how frustrating this is for you as you have been a Fitbit customer for a long time and would like to continue enjoying the Fitbit experience. Thank you for your feedback and suggestion, we're constantly working on improving our devices and user experiences, and your comments are always welcome. I recommend doing the following:

  1. Switch to a Fitbit clock face if you're using a third party clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
  2. Please confirm if you've restarted your device by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  3. Try to change the Screen Wake setting to manual, you can find the steps to do it in this help article: How do I see the time on my Fitbit device?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

You have to hold the button in until the Fitbit logo comes on

Thank  you.  I realize  holding the  button in I until logo comes  on does turn versa  2 off.

The watch  works and I like it, but it would be my be nice if I could use the other features

I have the same problem. I posted asking for help with no response! I have held the back button to restart, changed the clock face to be the one that was on my watch when I received it. Now I am seeing change a setting. That would be great to try but I can't swipe to get to the settings option on the watch. Since I get no response I guess I am stuck with a 4 months old watch that doesn't work.

I am having the same issue, even after I did all 3 steps listed above. HELP!

Thank you for your reply!  I strongly suggest putting the settings on the phone app and not on the Fitbit itself..  That might help a lot!!  It is a little disheartening that we spend a lot of money on something that should work to full capacity and not break down within 6 months of owning it..  I have to say if it happens again with the replacement I won’t be getting another Fitbit...  😕. But I appreciate the customer service!!

I did that. I seen another person say to change the screen awake to manual.
I did that and for 24 hours it has been working. But, I do like to twist my
wrist to read the watch, instead if pushing a button. Next the button will
stop working!

My issues started when an alarm would go off and I couldn’t stop it, then when it went after a snooze, I could shut it off with no problem. Next was the swipe to the side. Sometimes it would work great and other times not at all. I have seen it freeze half way between two screens. That to me says ‘program lockup’ more than hardware issue. I have tried the 3 suggestions and will test further. Only 5 months old (Christmas present)

Mine was Christmas present as well. It would freeze between screens as
well. I am hoping it will continue to work

I’m having these problems also. Can’t swipe and watch doesn’t come on when moving wrist. Will not come on when tapped. Frustrating to say the least. I’ve had this versa 2 since February.

That is exactly what I did. Has been working properly for a couple of days.
I miss not being able to see the watch with a turn if the wrist. Have to
manually turn it in. But, I can swipe with it.

If you hold the button on the side of the watch down long enough it will restart itself.

I am also about a day in so far. Since these step seem to to clearing the
issue, it further shows me that it is a programming issue/expecting too
much of the processor instead of actually hardware(watch) failure.
