I recently noted that my Energy Burned during workouts was extremely high (eg. 726 cal for a 45 min brisk walk on the treadmill at 3.5mph). I don't know when that started. Then today I noticed the same workout as I did a week ago (45 min brisk walk on the treadmill at 3.6mph) said less than half the energy burned (318 cal), despite a faster pace and HR (average 149 vs. 137 in the other workout) throughout. Looking back, I see this is a trend over the last few days (much lower energy burned for the same workouts I have always done). The only thing I notice that's different is there is now a new "cardio load" metric that wasn't there a week ago. I wonder whether there was some app update that changed how they calculate energy burned? How do I know which version is closer to reality?
