Versa 2 is randomly turning on during the day and that drains the battery

I had 0 issues running my LG G8 running android 9.0 with the versa 2 right out of the box, I have the motion sensor off and require a tap or button to turn my screen on to conserve battery, I also have sleep mode enabled at x time to x time. This all worked perfectly up until the firmware release.

Since the firmware version update 35.70.8.0 the versa 2 will just randomly come on, I don't have to be moving or anything, there is no updates there is nothing I can find why the screen suddenly pops on day or night, sleep mode or not. It has now killed my battery an extra day's worth by doing this since the update. I would say it comes on about 20 or more times during the day, everything else still seems to work but this annoyance is now affecting the life of my versa 2 battery.

Would love to know how to force it back to the next version or find out other reasons why this is happening all of a sudden.

Hello there @Waffleman, thanks for stopping by and for the details provided in your post. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 started acting up after the firmware update.

In regards to your question, please note that there's no way to roll back the update, but I'm here to help you with this situation.

If you haven't done so yet, please restart your Versa 2 by following the steps provided here: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

In case that the restart doesn't work, you can try performing a factory reset on your watch. Note that when doing a factory reset you'll need to reinstall any apps on your device after, and if you couldn’t sync your device, then any data on the Fitbit device will be lost from the last time sync until now. Before doing so, I recommend syncing your Versa 2, remove it from your Fitbit account and unpair it from your phone's Bluetooth settings, then perform the factory reset. For instructions, see How do I erase my Fitbit device?

If the suggestion works and your watch stops turning on by itself at random times, please monitor your Versa 2's battery life. You can take a look at this article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
