I recently bought a Versa 2 from Amazon and just received my product yesterday. The watch was not worn that day and it said 1,600 calories were burned. When I woke up this morning it said 500 were, although I had not worn the watch. It also has data reaching back all the way to November where it says over 2,000 calories were burned. How do I need to fix this? I want to make sure my stats are accurate.

Don't worry, it's working just fine.
As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing today includes the total BMR calories burned since midnight and the data for days in the past include the BMR calories for the full 24 hours.
