Versa 2 is tracking too many floors

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've been having an issue for the past 2 weeks where my floor count is way high (it was 197 floors on Friday and I barely exercised!). I've contacted customer support a few times, and they had me do a reboot on the Versa 2 directly, but that hasn't worked. I updated the app, and that didn't do it either. My Fitbit is only a year old, so I'm a but disappointed that its already having such a big issue. Can anyone help with this?

Hi there, @LauraN812. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

Please feel free to contact our Support Team back if the restart they recommended did not work. They will be glad to continue assisting you.

As a friendly reminder, please note that your Fitbit device may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors. For more information, see: Why does my Fitbit device count extra floors? You can also find more information about tracking activity in this help article: How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Said that, here are some of the possible causes for this inaccuracy:

  • The Versa 2 may track floors while driving, on an elevator or in an escalator.
  • Due to the Versa 2 is a wristband device, it may track floors while opening doors, from a weather change, or from a gust of wind (i.e. pressure changes)

Hope that helps.

Is there any reason why it would consistently be counting too many floors in the past 2 weeks, when I haven't had this issue in the year that I've had the device? Just seems strange that it's all of a sudden giving me so many floors.

@LauraN812 I understand. As I've mentioned above, Fitbit devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors.

If none of the above describe your issue, please feel free to get back in touch with our team so they can continue assisting you.

Have a good day.

Hello again. I'm still having incorrect floor count and I haven't done much of anything today (no driving, being outside, ect.). This is getting frustrating 😞 I've had my Fitbit for a year now, and only in the past month has this been an issue. I really like wearing it, but having the floor count so wrong has got to be messing up my other numbers. Is there anything that can be done to fix this??
