I just started using my new Versa 2, but it is tracking steps and stairs every time I drive. It tracked that I took 5000 steps and climbed 20 flights of stairs yesterday during a ten minute drive.
I read the posts, and it looks like counting steps while driving has been going on for years, with no resolution.
Is the drivebit add-on app (or whatever is was called) no longer available, to tell the Fitbit that you are driving and it should not count steps during that activity? I also don't see "drive" as an "exercise" for that same purpose, as another answer given in a previous post. There is no way I am going to go back to my step log and manually remove the steps taken while driving after the fact for every single drive taken. There must be a better solution, especially for a problem that was noted years ago.
Also, for what it's worth, my car has an extremely smooth ride, so the excuses in previous posts from the moderator that this problem is due to a "bumpy ride" or "stiff transmission" is complete BS.
