Versa 2 keeps showing "Data not cleared Sync & Try again"

I’ve tried to reset my Fitbit, I’ve deleted the app then reinstalled it and then deleted the Fitbit off the app and tried to add it again as if I had only just bought it. But nothing is working. The message of data not cleared sync and try again isn’t going away? Is there anything else I can do?

Hi there @ErinOConnor13, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post, I'll be glad to help you with your inquiry about the message you're getting on your Versa 2. I appreciate you've already tried to fix the issue prior to contacting us.

Please note that the error message you're now receiving on your watch's screen ("Data not cleared, Sync & Try and again") usually appears when you've performed a factory reset without first unpairing the watch. Said so, please try the steps below: 

  • Remove your Versa 2 from your Fitbit account and unpair it from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 2.

If you can't get started with your Versa 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
