Versa 2 miles not properly tracking mileage

My versa 2 has been giving me very inaccurate miles yesterday I walked  4.7 miles fitbit recorded as 3.31 my regular walk is 3.2 miles and its been registering as 2.03... I have my stride recorded.. I also have the auto turned on.. I choose the walk exercise when doing these walks with gps.. Its beyond frustrating to do the distance but not have it tracked... help please !

Try this: on your phone go to settings/location/fitbit/permissions/location and make sure it says "Allow all the time."    I found this solution in a different thread.   I have not tested it yet. 

But, what did work for me yesterday is that I manually chose to track my walk in the app. Then my watch was also working.  I think by tracking it in the app, it kept the app open.  

So, I am hoping that by switching the settings, I won't have to also manually track the walk in the app.

 Thank you for replying, I do have the permissions set to all the time. The convenience of the watch was that I wouldn't have to manually track but I'll try it and see what happens.
