Versa 2 no longer allowing me to open Notifications.

I have had my Versa 2 for around a year.  Previously, I have been able to open, read and reply to texts and WhatsApps and I could read and delete emails.  However, for the last couple of months, I am getting all my notifications but I can only look at them and then clear them from my Versa, it won't let me open anything to read in full, I can't reply to any or delete emails. I haven't  changed or revoked any permissions. Can anyone advise why this has changed and how to rectify?  I have tried a factory resent and reinstalling the Fitbit app on my phone (which is a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra).

I am having same issue with a note 8. Worked fine then it stopped. Appears I have performed all the same steps you have to resolve on my own. Getting frustrated with lack of answer.
