Versa 2 no longer tracks sleep or exercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I searched the forums but have not found an answer. About one week ago, my Versa 2 stopped auto tracking exercise. The app will record exercise if I log it via Runkeeper or Strava, but the Versa 2 itself says 0 of 7 days. As of yesterday, sleep is no longer tracking. I've tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, turning blutooth on and off, etc. No luck. I've only had the Versa 2 since August and this makes it useless for the things I want it for. Please help.

Hi @Sparklepants, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 stopped tracking your sleep and it stopped recording your exercises automatically. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
  • Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
  • Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates they initiated the factory reset.

After this, set up your watch from scratch.

As a side note, I'd like to share this help page, which explains how your Fitbit device tracks your exercises. Also, visit this article, which explains how your Versa 2 tracks your sleep.

Finally, monitor your Versa 2 and see if it tracks your exercises automatically and tracks your sleep data properly.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I went through the factory reset process twice. Both times it said it failed. Now the Versa 2 itself will only track 3 things: steps, hours today (which it shows as 0), and heart rate. It doesn't give me options to add anything to the screen. So now I have more problems.

For a lark, I tried it a third time. Now my device is stuck on a screen that says, "data not cleared. Sync and try again." But sync through the app isn't working. So now I have a completely nonfunctional Versa 2.
