Versa 2 not holding a charge

My Versa 2’s battery all of a sudden went from 90% to dead in a few hours.  I put it on the charger and it didn’t recognize it was connected. I did all the cleaning tricks, restarting, got a brand new charger, etc. Nothing worked. I managed to somehow turn it on (took a few dozen times) and get it on the charger. The battery icon looks like it’s charging, my app can finally find it, but the battery percentage doesn’t move from 0% even after leaving it on the charger the whole day. If I take it off the charger, it’s dead, and it takes a few (more dozen) times of clicking the back button for it to restart again.
As a last resort I did a factory reset. Same situation.
I just need to know if it’s time to toss it in the trash. It’s about 4 years old.

I have the same issues - Versa 2 won't charge  / loses charge within hours / won't sync to phone / lost all data and can't change the clockface -that was one of the "suggestions" I was given.. I tried taking it off the phone and doing a restart and now it won't sync to my phone and the versa 2 screen is black - sometimes with a white line along the bottom. Do I toss it and  just buy a different tracker.  I'm so glad that I stopped paying premium after the last "update" as this is just  wasting my time.

I just read this  on a tech page   "In February 2023, Fitbit users experienced some unfortunate server outages. Across the Fitbit mobile app and the website, users were having issues with syncing their data, setting up devices, or viewing updates. Some users tried to uninstall and reinstall the mobile app, but this locked them out completely and wouldn’t let people log in or pair their devices again."  Looks like that's my problem today!

After hours of researching, I'm finding that whoever took over from google at fitbit, and tried to make the fitbit app "better", screwed us all up. Our devices are still good, but the firmware and app update that got forced out on us to make things "better", just sucks out more battery life for an ugly, useless and not user friendly app update, that apparently "can't" be undone by their tech people.

Dumped my much loved fitbit versa 2 as it couldn't be resuscitated. Have bought a lovely Samsung galaxy watch instead. It's a joy compared to my versa 2 after that dreadful update in October 2023.
