Versa 2 not holding charge, resets and shuts off

I've had my Versa for just over 1 year. It went black and would not charge for about 2 days - the screen was black and it got hot when I put it on the charger. I set it aside. After 2 days I tried to reset by holding back button and bottom button and got the Fitbit symbol! Was thrilled as this had not previously worked. I was soon deflated as after it reached 100% charge, I wore it and noticed it was no longer tracking my steps. I did a reset and it seemed ok. Later that evening I went to check the time and the screen was black. It was only a few hours. I put it on the charger and it was to 100%. I wore it to bed. Woke up the next morning and the screen was black. Put it on the charger again  - to 100%. Throughout the day it would restart by itself - the Fitbit icon came on multiple times within an hour then the screen went black. Currently it is not holding a charge longer than a couple hours. I am beyond frustrated. I have reset it. Removed it from my wifi and reset it up with the app. changed my watch face and turned off all the background stuff. I revised my settings to only receive texts and nothing else. It's not working - still loses charge rapidly and shuts off. Help! or am I just out of luck because it's over a year old and out of warranty? So disappointing. I really liked this product but let's see if I get any help with this issue.

I've had my Versa 2 for 8 months. It was working fine until 2 weeks ago and now it will not hold a charge for even 1 hour. The screen goes black and will not turn back until I've charged for at least 4-6 hours.

Yup, unfortunately after going back and forth with customer service at Fitbit, there’s nothing they can do as my device is out of warranty. You may have better luck - as the warranty period is 1 year. They had me track how long the charge held and asked me to provide a receipt with the date of purchase.

Good luck to you.

I noticed that they respond in the evening. So I wouldn’t stop communicating with them. Since your device is less than a year old I’d press on.
