Versa 2 not properly tracking Sleep Stages

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

About a week ago I started using Versa 2. Mainly because of sleep tracking option.... and, of course, that is exactly what doesn't work properly.

For some reason app splits my sleep in a weird way. Usually first about hour and a half after I fall asleep comes out as a nap with basic sleep details. And then app says that I was awake for about hour  and a half after that until I fell asleep again - which is absolutely incorrect because I know I wasn't awake then. And then after that I have another 3 or 4 hours of sleep with actual sleep stages.

And this same issue happens every single night.

Last night I tried to go into sleeping section, click on "+" and "begin sleep now", when I woke up this morning and opened app and clicked "I am awake", app told me "server rejected to calculate sleep stages..." (or something like that, can't remember the exact words). Oh really? 😡

In my fitbit profile sleep is set to normal.

[I tried to upload screenshot here so you can see exactly how it looks, but for some idiotic reason I am not allowed to upload picture. When I click on "insert/edit picture" icon some useless ridiculous window pops up without any upload option..... So I guess I can't even use my profile and forum properly. Great! 😡

Hi @DuleTT, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for your post and all the details that were shared, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this situation and how many times since then? Let me share with you that there are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information about why you see your sleep pattern, tap or click the sleep record that shows your sleep pattern.

Also, if you're having difficulties attaching a screenshot into your post, please follow the instructions that are specified on this post and let me know if you continue experiencing such issue.

Looking forward to your reply.

It happened first day when I started using the watch and it's happening ever since.

Watch will split my sleep in parts almost every night.

Also it will say I was sleeping when I was awake, and that I was awake when I was sleeping....

- I wear watch properly as explained. I mean, I know how to wear the watch. It's not my first !
- I always sleep on the side, so that can't be a problem.

- I tried to use "begin sleep" option only once to see if that will make any difference, but it didn't work as I explained in previous post so I gave up on that as well.

- Trust me, it has nothing to do with the battery!

Thanks for your reply @DuleTT.

The details that were shared with me are appreciated. Since the factors that were shared on my previous post don't apply to this scenario, I recommend you to restart your Versa 2 and try wearing it on your non-dominant hand when you're going to sleep and let me know if the issue persists.

I'll be here if further assistance is needed.
