Versa 2 not providing accurate information during workouts

Received my Versa 2 for Christmas and am having some issues. When I select I am on the stair climber, after doing 100 floors, I looked at my fitbit and it said .04 miles and 24 steps counted. It tracked my heart rate and calories corrected but the other stats were drastically off. When I select elliptical, my machine stated 3miles and my fitbit said .49 miles. Treadmill walked on incline for 2 miles, Versa said .29 miles. When I had the Blaze, it was off by a few hundred steps which was dependent on where my hands were placed on the machine but these stats of the Versa seem really off. Is anyone else having these issues? It isn’t just once or twice, it a consistent problem. I have resettled the watch so please don’t recommend that. I love the watch, just want it to reflect my goals.

I don't know why this would be different from the Blaze, but they could all be explained by holding a hand rail with fitbit wrist.  Fitbit detects steps from swinging of arm as in normal walking.  When wrist is held steady, sometimes steps are not detected. And, assuming you are not connected to phone's GPS, distance is calculated as number of steps times stride length, so if steps not detected, then distance is too short.

As you noted, heart rate, and calories based on heart rate, would still be correct.

If you can let the fitbit arm swing free, that would work.  Otherwise putting the fitbit in a pocket world probably get better step count, and therefore distance, but lose heart rate data for that time.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

With several of the exercises mentioned Fitbit doesn't try to count steps, but concentrates on calories.

As for distance? How for did you really walk. Virtual made up distance is hard to physically measure

As for stairs on the stair master. Unless your arm physically was raised 10 feet, they will not be counted.

@Rachy67 that is because your activity tracker is on your wrist. The activity tracker really does not look at what the feet are doing. It looks for arm movements that would happen while walking.

However steps of less than 4 steps between pauses will not be counted.
