I have a Versa 2 and an iPhone X and cannot seem to get my text messages to my watch. All the settings are on to receive notifications on phone & watch. I had no issue with this and the blaze. Help please:)

I have performed every single suggestion to get text message notifications on my old Charge 3 and my new Versa 2... to no avail! I do not have both devices connected to my phone... for those that think that may be the problem. I receive all other notifications, GPS works, just no text. I am extremely frustrated with FitBit... their company rep advised I just return it...? Great tech support there!!! Any suggestions out there?

I had this issue too. I reached out to support as well. They suggested updating my phone and the Fitbit app. Did that and still didn’t work. I went to the notification that shows “text previews” where you can choose if you want to show only the persons name and “text message”, or if you want a banner preview of what the message says, or if you want the whole message. In my phone it was marked as no preview. I changed it to preview “when phone is unlocked” and restarted the Fitbit and all of a sudden all my notifications work!

Thank you, Tiff84! I’ll try that. Fitbit should not be such a puzzle!

Hello there @Teje64, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 3 and Versa 2 are not receiving notifications from your iOS. Thank you for the steps you've done so far in order to get this solved.

So I can assist you accordingly, would you mind letting me know the following:

  1. Is your phone running OS 13.4.1 or 13.5?
  2. Have you tried and followed the recommendations provided here: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

Thanks for your help @Tiff84.

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

Hi MarreFitBit.

I just got off the phone with Kimoy @ FitBit Support. The solution for receiving text messages on my Versa 2 was to allow notifications, under settings, under messages. It’s frustrating that you have to allow notifications at three different places. But it is working now.

Thank you for responding from the boards!

Hello there @Donjay21, thanks for stopping by and for the details provided.

I'd recommend to set up WhatsApp notifications again by following the steps below:

  1. With your tracker nearby, from the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon > Versa tile.
  2. Tap Notifications. When you're prompted to pair Versa, follow the onscreen instructions. After you've connected your tracker, "Versa" will appear in the list of Bluetooth devices connected to your phone. Note that call, text, and calendar notifications are turned on automatically.
  3. To turn on notifications from apps installed on your phone, including Fitbit and WhatsApp, tap App Notifications and turn on the specific notifications you want to see.
  4. Tap Notifications > Versa in the top left corner to return to device settings. Sync your tracker to save your changes.

Check step 3, you will find it helpful. For more details on how to set up notifications, see this help article

In case that you don't receive not WhatsApp notifications after following the steps above, I'd recommend taking a look at the help article: Troubleshooting quick tips for iPhones

Let me know if you need further assistance.

After months of trying I finally figured it out with the help of a Fitbit tech person

1. go to the settings for your iPhone Go to notifications

2. Scroll down and pick the app for Messages

3. Scroll down to shows previews this must be on always or when unlocked

Hope this works for you works like a charm for me

None of these (fixes) work I have not been able to receive text messages since the firm ware update. Stop saying the same things over and over again and just fix the issue. You know is still very much a problem for most of your customers.

Sorry it did not work for you worked for me and been receiving texts as long as you close the texts. It will not go to the watch if the conversation is open.

To be honest I've given up now and bought a garmin, now no more expensive
than the fitbit. Notifications no problem whatsoever and loads of fitness
apps etc. I still prefer the look of the fitbit but it's no use to me if it
doesn't work properly

Hi there @Mariabonita and @Maesto1, welcome here. I totally understand where you're coming from. Thanks for the details provided in your post and for taking the time to troubleshoot the notifications prior to posting here.

May I know if both of you are on iOS devices? If so, please let me know the current OS and confirm if your watch is syncing. In the meantime, I'd recommend checking the following requirements:

  1. Toggle the iMessage setting; general > Messages > iMessage
  2. verify the `Show Previews` to be on `Always`

Thanks everyone for helping out here, it's great to hear you are back in business!

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.
