I have a Versa 2 and an iPhone X and cannot seem to get my text messages to my watch. All the settings are on to receive notifications on phone & watch. I had no issue with this and the blaze. Help please:)

I just got my versa 2 and have had the same problem. How can fit it not have the perfect solution by now? You advertise that this option works on the products but know you have issues with it. False advertising if you ask me. I could have just gone with an Apple Watch if I knew it would be this difficult. Get it together Fitbit!

I went ahead and bought a Versa 2 and none of these fixes have worked... I should have changed over to the Garmin family, I think 😔.

Hi there @Izzosdad2015 and @Hbleiker! Welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa smartwatches are not receiving notifications from your mobile phone. Thank you for the steps you've done so far in order to get this solved.

So I can assist you accordingly, would you mind letting me know the following:

  1. Is your phone running OS 13.4.1, 13.5, or 13.5.1?
  2. Is your phone included here: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?
  3. Have you tried and followed the recommendations provided here: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

@Hbleiker, I called FitBit directly to get all the issues with my Versa 2 fixed. I, too, had tried everything on the forum, to no avail.

The key for my phone was to switch the “show previews” setting on in my phone’s text message settings.

Thank you,

Yess! Got it I don’t even want to move my settings ever again was difficult trying get this working. I remember that the only thing I changed was go to the settings/ notifications/ iMessage app and I had it Show previous “ always” changed for “when unlocked ” and asked someone to text me right away and I got the message asking if I allow my versa to get notifications. Works when the phone is lock and unlock thank you

@Izzosdad2015, that is one of the things I did as well. I hate, hate, hate that preview must be set to always!

I agree. It’s a privacy issue as far as I’m concerned,  But then again I have nothing to hide. Although, strangers don’t need to see what’s on my phone

Hello,

I followed every single post on here but what I figured out to work for me that you might want to pass on to every person who has a question about this is that in messages Notification Center settings the messages “Notification Center” setting must be on either wise it won’t be considered a “notification” is what I’m thinking. I tested everything else as to the “always” or “when unlocked” and it didn’t matter. As soon as I turned of the check by the “Notification Center” grouping I didn’t get the notifications anymore. Please spread this word to anyone who has this problem, I swear that’s the issue! I will post a screen shot of what MUST be checked.

Hello. I followed all of these directions exactly. Removed my original versa and the versa 2 and then repaired the versa 2. It is still not working. Still cannot receive texts. Calls come through just fine but want text messages. For $200, this is disappointing. Any other advice please?

For iPhone you need to go to notification in settings scroll down to the message app and then scroll down to options “shows previews” should be set to “always”. During one of the updates this somehow got reset.

Hope this clears up you issue it did for me after months of not working

I fixed mine today. You have to have “preview messages” and “always”
selected on your phone. It’s the only way.
