I have a Versa 2 and an iPhone X and cannot seem to get my text messages to my watch. All the settings are on to receive notifications on phone & watch. I had no issue with this and the blaze. Help please:)

@SlothLife It's not working, I am so upset with this right now. I can't believe, not even 2 weeks with this watch and all that money. 😞

My Versa stopped receiving texts back in October. I was going to purchase a Versa 2, but first I called customer service. They literally admitted that the Versa 2 would do the same thing and that they had no fix for me. This is so aggravating. My husband, best friend, and her husband have all switched to Garmin. I'm about to...the three of them are so much happier. I'm bummed though; I love everything else about my Versa.

I called customer service as well and they literally did nothing for me either. So annoying when you pay good money for something and it doesn't fully work. So discouraged with this.

Granted, one shouldn't have to go through this, however below are things that have worked for me for my Samsung Galaxy S10:
#1 Fitbit app force stop and Fitbit reboot
--Use this process if multiple types of notifications are not coming through to your Fitbit (text, email, calendar)
--First, check to see if the Fitbit app is syncing. If it hasn't synced for awhile and the circle keeps spinning when you try to sync it, this may be the fix you need.
--In your phone settings, go into Apps and find the Fitbit app. Click on "force stop"
--Restart your phone
--If this doesn't fix it, try also rebooting your Versa 2: Hold down the control button on the side of your Fitbit until you see the Fitbit logo. Let go of the button until it reboots (10-15 seconds).
I have had my Versa 2 for about 4 months and have had to do this twice.
#2 Download a different messaging app
--If it is only text message notifications that are not coming through on the Fitbit, try another messaging app
--I have found that both Google Messages and Verizon Message+ both work. There may be others as well. Download and set them as default on your phone and in your Fitbit app
--I did this two weeks ago and so far, everything is working well.
Hope this helps!

I have done all of this over and over again. They had me do all of this as well when I was chatting with support. Today, it wouldn't sync, said no device found several times when trying to sync. It's very frustrating.

I tried everything you did at least 5 times. Text messages still do not come through. Fitbit said it's a problem everywhere and they are working on it. I usually use Message +, didn't work, tried Google messages, and a few from the Play store and still nothing. I'm trying to get them to replace it. They did my Charge 3 when I had problems. They sent out just the watch part. I'm getting frustrated.

It is very frustrating. I have tried everything and now it won't even sync again. It just comes up device not found. I have searched for answers everywhere as well as contacting customer support which was a waste of my time. My friend was here earlier and her messaging was working, she is having issues with some other things tho. It's a pain.

So sorry that nothing is working. What a pain! It's ridiculous that there are these problems, considering the cost of the Versa 2.

Thank you. Yes, it's absolutely ridiculous. I fell that Fitbit is also being a tad non chalant about it also. I have read posts stating that Fitbit knows that there are issues. So I feel they should recall these watches and give people a refund or alternate replacement. I have had mine for 12 days, it is going back to the store tomorrow. I will look for something else instead of dealing with constant issues with this watch. I have tried everything again this evening and no luck at all.

I’m able to revive text message notifications from my Versa 2 to iPhone X only when my message notification options on my phone are set to either show previews always or when unlocked. I can’t get notifications on my Versa if my option is set to never. 😞
Settings> Notifications> Messages> Options> Show Previews> Always (Default) or When Unlocked
If anyone knows how to receive text notifications while on the Never show preview option, please share. Thanks.

Toggling off the Preview New Messages under Samsung Galaxy 10+ Settings > notifications > messages notifications > InApp Notifications worked for me. Mine had stopped working after the android and fitbit updates.

Thank you very much for that solution because it did work for me as well. It is unfortunate that Fitbit cannot correct this problem. Before I bought the watch I had a Samsung Gear Fit 2 and it worked very well with my Samsung Galaxy S10 phone giving me complete messages plus a lot of other things that this watch does not provide. Fitbit if you want to keep up with the competition you need to fix this problem right now.

Thanks so much! I bought mine today and was about to return it tomorrow. Your advice on toggling off in-app notifications worked. I also have a Samsung S10. Fingers crossed it keeps working.

Google messages also working with versa 2 and you won't have to be part of Facebook. It works like the native messaging app but has less features than the Samsung messaging app. It's an ok bandaid until @Fitbit fixes the issue. It has worked for me for about 4 days straight.

Maybe they are finally working on it. Don't give up.

In my opinion Google Messages is the better way to go. You see if you use Google Messages on your Android phone as your default messaging app then the Fitbit devices will sync more reliably as well as you can get your text messages on your computer with the ability to send and receive right from your computer. All you need to do is go to https://messages.google.com and link your phone and now you have all your text messages right on your computer and a backup of them if you loose your phone.
