I have a Versa 2 and an iPhone X and cannot seem to get my text messages to my watch. All the settings are on to receive notifications on phone & watch. I had no issue with this and the blaze. Help please:)

I updated my iPhone software to the latest 13.3 and restarted my phone.  Then I went back through the steps Fitbit has posted for the versa 2 and it finally started working again for the first time since October.  I am now getting all of my alerts on my wrist again.  I am a loyal Fitbit user and to me it was worth the wait rather than getting some other system that doesn’t serve my purpose as well.  Good luck to you getting yours to work.  Be sure to follow the Fitbit instructions detailed for versa 2 in the correct order and it will eventually catch whatever the missing piece is for you.

I have tried this to the best of my knowledge.
I tried restarting my fitbit also and that did not work.
No idea what i am doing wrong 😞

Follow these steps and it will work.
After updating to iOS 13.3 and restarting both devices.

I received my versa 2 late last week. Day 1 nothing. Days 2-3 received emails, texts, calendar notifications. Then 2.5 days with nothing. Today at 3:00 a calendar alert came through. Which was followed with alerts for all again. No rhyme or reason to when, why or how it all works. My preferences are set as they say; it just works inconsistently. Can’t rely on things coming through to versa 2, but sometimes surprised! Can’t say it was why I purchased (or probably would have bought apple watch since everything I have is apple); but it would be nice if it worked consistently.

Do what they recommend. But will work only once in a while based on my week’s experience (just posted below). It just seems this will be an unreliable feature u less fitbit does some kind of update to stoo the nonsense 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:

I bought mine today and I am not getting any notifications at all, I have a
iPhone X , what kind of phone do you have?

iPhone 7.
based on everything I’ve read over the week, back a couple years, notifications have never been great. Many complaints. My guess is, if notifications of emails, messages, etc is important to you it may be a frustrating thing for you. It wasn’t something I desperately wanted so will accept the inconsistency.
after buying saw google purchased fitbit? Maybe the feature will improve with that merger?

good luck.

I think I followed the instructions, restarted my phone. Deleted my watch from it and set it up again. Changed all notification settings and still nothing!

Did you change your phones text message settings to preview always or only
when unlocked?

Unsure if this message is to me - not sure I follow the threading on this forum 🙂

yes, for me those settings are right.
I’ve been able to get notifications on my versa2 for 2.5 straight days without it just stopping! Feel lucky 🙂  I get notifications for texts, calls, voicemails, emails, and calendar events.

thanks for the info - and hope it helps others who rely on these more than I do!

Select your Settings App.  Then go to “Notifications”.  Select your  “Messages” App. Go to where it says “Shows Previews”.  Be sure it says “Always” or “When Unlocked” and not “Never”.  I changed it and tried both options (“Always” & When Unlocked”) and then it worked.

Tried everything but no use, still showing notification service not running, restart your phone

Yes I did.  I tried each of those options.  The text messages will come work on those two options, but not when it’s on the “Never” option.
