Versa 2 not receiving text messages

I have a Versa 2 and an iPhone X and cannot seem to get my text messages to my watch. All the settings are on to receive notifications on phone & watch. I had no issue with this and the blaze. Help please:)

I cannot seem to get notifications to my Fitbit Versa 2. I have restarted and reconnected Bluetooth. I have turned on notifications in app for messages and calls to come through onto my watch. All the help I find online is same thing I have already done. How can I fix this?

i just got the versa 2 for Christmas today, I have iPhone 8 with iOS 13.3, and I cannot receive texts. I get incoming calls, notification on a couple apps but no texts, and one of the main reasons i love the Fitbit is for that. I had the Alta for 4 years and I was getting text thru that...I’ve done all the settings on phone and Fitbit app. I’ve reinstalled the Fitbit app and reconnected to blue tooth. Please help. Just really frustrating. Thanks.

I was having the same problem.  I scrolled through and resolved my issue with this. 

Resolved the problem by going to notifications, messages, scroll to the bottom select show previews. Make sure your phone is set to when unlocked  or always.

Make sure it’s not on never.

Notifications should then start coming through.

I’m using iPhone 6s. Just got the watch today. Cannot get text alerts or email. I’ve tried all the fixes I can. Please help.

same! I have the new iphone xr and have reset, uninstalled and reinstalled, turned everything hard off and reset and still nothing

go to notifications on phone select messages 

scroll to bottom, under options -> Show Preview -> select  When unlocked

This is my second Fitbit and I had a great experience with my first one so was excited for the versa 2. Because the Fitbit Alta didn’t require the “preview messages” I didn’t think that this one would.  
I spent all day trying to figure out how to get texts and I am EXTREMELY disappointed in how this works.  So much so I want to return it now.

the point of having the watch is to preview the message without looking at your phone.  This feature is useless.

No... I called Fitbit and they tried to help me out but it didn’t work. So all they said was to wait for the next Fitbit update to see if that would help. I don’t think it will, they just updated not long ago. And they have no idea when the next update will be. 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:

Go to your notifications in settings. Make sure show previews are set to always. After that scroll down to messages in the notifications and make sure show previews are set to always as well.

That should fix your problem. Let me know

Notifications to text message
Make sure you have “show previews” set as always
That was the trick for our phones

Can I only get notifications of text on Versa lite if I have previews? I don’t want previews.. I just want to know I’m getting a text.
