I just went from a Charge 2 to the Versa 2. Since changing over, my Versa 2 will not track my sleep. It's showing like 1hr per night, but nothing else?
It is tracking steps and my heart rate just fine though.

They did issue a large update this morning so, hopefully, that should fix it all. However, don’t hold your breath.

Did the update on my one week old Versa 2 and it hasn't picked up sleep since I purchased it

So what is Fitbit doing about this? I returned my first Versa 2 because it had a touch screen that only responded occasionally, and it would not automatically pick up sleep. I’m now having the exact same issues with my replacement watch. This really isn’t acceptable. Do Fitbit reps even look at these posts?

So I figured my issue out on my own I think after several conversations with Fitbit...I believe the issue with my sleep tracking is the fact that I have a full sleeve of tattoos and where the sensors are will not pick up heart rate through the ink so to prove it I tried to get my heart rate on the tattooed wrist and it wouldn't pick it up, I then put it in the other arm with no tattoos and I took my heart rate immediately

I have a full color sleeve as well but it was never an issue with my Fitbit blaze. It always tracks my heart rate as well. It tracked last night for the first time in a couple days and I didn’t do anything different. It seems like it’s just a glitch or something with that model of watch.

Hmmmm I'm going to wear it on the other wrist tonight and see if that makes
a difference 😁
Well ......it tracked sleep last night on the wrist with no tattoo ink which leads me to believe the sensors on the Versa 2 will not read though the ink ....which is weird because my blaze didn't have this issue.

That’s so annoying. Mine didn’t track last night again. I wish they cared enough to try and fix this issue.

I’m having the same issue but my Fitbit Alta worked fine. I’m extremely disappointed as I specifically got this over the Apple Watch because of the sleep tracker. Has anything been done?? This may need to be escalated to a higher level of media so people are aware before buying

It's sad, cause I have been doing the syncing and turning on the app almost everynight for the device to recongize sleep. Then today, after the update on my watch, it deleted most of the sleep history from the app for the week. Like wth. I'm so tired of this watch and how fitbit decided to deal with the faulty sleep tracking on it.
Even when i make the band the tightest it can go on my wrist it still doesn't calculate correctly, just maybe an hour of time. This is just becoming a waste of time and money on this **ahem** thing.

Got my first fitbit yesterday (versa 2), specifically for its sleep tracking capabilities.
When the sleep tracker did not work last night, I wanted to know how it detected sleep.
Apparently it is done through movement (or lack thereof)...
Well that is rubbish if truth be told. Plenty of people move in their sleep.
Then I found this forum (as well as several others).
I'm baffled, not only at how many people this affects, but how unhelpful the support team is.
This is an issue with their product - a flaw in how they detect sleep. Nothing else.
I've been using an android app called 'Sleep Cycle' the past couple of months, and frankly it's much better. This fitbit was meant to replace it. I'll get on to support about this, but expect no real help from them. Waste of my money.
Even if they had a manual 'start/stop' sleep function, that would be something.

I think you’re absolutely right that they won’t admit they have a faulty product. And send you on a loop of useless tips and repetitive emails. I received my versa 2 on January 22 and was having issues from the very beginning. I did everything they suggested for trying to get the sleep to work and nothing. My HR is also not logging properly and I was having to restart my versa 2 almost hourly to get it to pick up the HR. It doesn’t log my calories burned properly during workouts and will day I burned 1 calorie per minute when that’s absolutely impossible. They had me restart, so a factory reset and then when all that failed and they passed me off to the the email support, then asked the same redundant questions and then decided to send a replacement. I received it this past Saturday and am still dealing with the same exact issues except to HR recording at all since I received it and no sleep either. I’m getting the same run around and being put through the same steps and they seriously can’t just admit that it’s a faulty product. I called them out in the chat yesterday that this is what they were doing and just wasting customers time by inconveniencing them instead of offering real solutions.

I got a replacement fitbit also. Syncing issues are atrocious, but I seem to have gotten the sleep tracking working on the app (it won't show on the watch). If your HR isn't working at all, then that's messed up. I can verify that mine is fine. Do you have tattoos on your arm? I think I recall one guy saying that tattoos were interfering with the HR monitoring on his watch
