Versa 2 not tracking sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just went from a Charge 2 to the Versa 2. Since changing over, my Versa 2 will not track my sleep. It's showing like 1hr per night, but nothing else?

It is tracking steps and my heart rate just fine though.

As far as changing to sensitive that never helped me, I’ve tried everything all of the suggestions and have been through 2 different Versa 2’s and have never been able to get the sleep tracking working properly. This coming from a Blaze where the sleep tracking worked flawlessly.

I agree, my blaze worked great. I went to Versa 2 because it's water
resistant

I am sorry. I  guess I just got lucky. I hear from friends who have Apple watches, if you want to go that route,  that theirs is always spot on  But then it requires an iPhone and that means 2 more lines.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I see you have an iPhone.  I would say your best bet at this point is to get an Apple watch , I hear they are spot on. I don't use an iPhone or I'd probably be looking at that option.

I bought FitBit Versa 2 SE couple of days ago, but it's not recording my sleep at all since day one. 😞

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Other-Versa-Smartwatches/Sleep-not-recording-Versa-2-SE/m-p/4532672#...

I've had identical issue(not recording sleep at all) on my previous 3x FitBit Charge 3 watches(all 3 of them), so I changed it to Samsung Galaxy Fit and it recorded my sleep patterns just fine. Also all my previous FitBit watches(Alta HR, Charge 2 etc) recorded my sleep just fine.

Do I need to return my Versa 2 like I did with my three Charge 3 watches? 😞

All the feedbacks I got on Charge 3(not recording sleep) has been totally useless.. e.g. wear the watch very tight, reset the band and Fitbit app etc.

Last feedback I got from FitBit Charge 3 was that I would be contacted via email from FitBit technician, but I never received any email regarding the issue.

I wasn't gonna buy another FitBit after all the time and hassle I wasted with three Charge 3 watches, I thought I'd give another go with Versa 2... and extremely disappointed to have identical issue again.

FYI, I have already tried all 4 suggestions on first post. i.e. 1. confirm my sleep settings are normal, etc.

EDIT: I've just updated the FitBit App to the latest version.. so hopefully that will fix the issue. But not sure what else I can do if that doesn't fix the problem.. My phone is Samsung Galaxy S10.

I understand, I really do. I also bought a Samsung Galaxy Watch  from Verizon...well, let's say I bought two and had to return them both. What a hassle that was during Covid , first time they just sent me return label. Bought the second and it too had issues....mechanical, would not charge. They had me drive 50 miles to a corporate store because our store was not open thinking they would just give me another watch. That did not happen. I have no idea if would have tracked my sleep.  So I don't personally recommend that. I think the only thing that has been perfect was the old fashioned Jawbone I had as my first tracker.  It wasn't even a watch.  I have had a variety of Fitbit's. My Versa 2 is tracking at I'd say 99% of the time since I changed the setting to sensitive but that has not helped others. Friends who have an Apple tell me they are wonderful, my daughter got one just yesterday but more so for it's other features.  It's expensive and requires a line with your carrier and an iPhone. I don't do iPhones. I prefer Android system. And it's more my price.

I would suggest using another company as Fitbit customer support is TERRIBLE. I have been having issues with this Versa 2 since day of purchase and have tried everything to solve the issue and still after 9-10 months does not track my sleep. First it wouldn't track properly now it won't track at all. I just tried using the cat feature to initiate an exchange and had a horrible experience. The person on the other end just kept telling me to try things that I have already tried and kept saying "no" to me repeatedly, I asked him to stop telling me "no", that is not appropriate for customer service to answer questions with "no" yet he continued to do it even more.

Versa 2 has stopped tracking my sleep altogether after version 72.1.9 update.  I have to enter my sleep start and end time and it gives me the simplified sleep details..   My wife has a different model and hers works like a charm.   Versa 2 is broken tech.

I agree, I had the Blaze and it tracked sleep well. I bought the Vwpersa 2
so I could wear it in the pool. Never picks up sleep. I have to sync it
with the app and look at the result on my phone, it never shows on the
watch itself

I was finally able to do an exchange after contacting Fitbit via their twitter page. So now on my third Versa 2 unit and the sleep tracking finally is working, albeit not perfectly but I would say it works 80% of the time. So better than the first two units, by far but still not perfect and not as good as the Blaze I had.

my guess is that the versa 2 design is simply  flawed and Fitbit probably knows this but instead of doing the right thing Fitbit like every other greedy big business will never fess up to it in order to save cost.

Even though I was finally able to get a unit that mostly works this experience has left a sour taste and this Fitbit will be my last. My next smart watch will be from a different brand.

My fitbit has my tracked sleep for the first month and 1/2 , then stopped. My watch is on tight at night, and tracking my steps,  so really don’t know what is the problem. I see im not the only one  with this problem i guess!

Usually, mine does well. Not to say I have not had my share of problems in the past but it seemed to finally be on track. Occasionally, and last night was one of them, it doesn’t pick up my whole sleep time. I awoke thinking to myself, I had a really good night. Checked my app on my phone and said “what?”. It had begun tracking at around 11:45 when actually I had gone to bed at 9 pm and was sound asleep quickly, probably getting my deep sleep those first two hours. I edited the bedtime and checked later and it had revised my time slept and my score but feel sure those two hours were not correctly accounted for. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Hello guys, I hope you are doing fine.

I understand how are you feeling and appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this sleep issue. It's great to know that for some of you this problem has been resolved after and update.

Keep in mind that in order to register your sleep, your watches need to track your heart rate. If they aren't recognizing this information, follow the steps in the help article: What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?.

Now, if your devices are recognizing this data but not the sleep, try the following:

  1. Manually sync the Fitbit. See instructions in the help article: How do Fitbit devices sync their data?
  2. Restart the Fitbit. See instructions in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  3. Try sleeping with the Fitbit on your non-dominant hand.
  4. If steps 1-3 don't work, I suggest manually logging your sleep to reflect the time slept. See instructions in the help article: How do I edit my sleep history in the Fitbit app?

Have a good day!
