Versa 2 not vibrating for alerts.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello,

within the last week, my versa two has stopped vibrating for notification alerts. I have gone through all the steps in previous posts including testing the vibration, disconnecting from Bluetooth, logging out is app, shutting watch down, shutting iPhone down...nothing seems to work.
Notification still appears on the watch itself, but there is no vibration to being it to my attention.
Rather frustration. Thank you.

Please check you haven't selected sleep or Don not disturb accidentally on your watch.

On the watch

Swipe down once from top

It will show your notifications

Swipe down again from top

Click on the two white bars to get to Quick Settings

Make sure the 2 top icons are greyed out

A few things: looks like I have a reg. Versa, not Versa 2, I’m sure that makes a difference.

-DND/sleep is on same setting it has always been, this hasn’t changed.
-swiping down the second time does not bring me to the second menu you speak of.
-my wife’s versa light is doing the same thing starting around the same time.
-only thing I am unsure of is if my firmware update has occurred. Reyes to force it, but doesn’t seem to be working.

Thanks!

Thanks for the interesting feedback.

With the latest releases of firmware, Versa and Versa 2 have the same pull down menu.

If its not the case it will be a good idea to check the versions, of watches and Apps, on both phones, as follows: [you may have an old Versa version]

In the phone Fitbit App

Click on profile photo [top left]

Device photo [middle left]

Firmware Version at the top

Help & Support

Fitbit App Version at the top

Visit Latest Firmware list to see the most recent versions.

You can also verify DND/Sleep normally through the settings menu, which needs to be verified to rule out that as the issue.

Lastly you can check vibrate actually works, it stops on low charge so may be charging is also required.

On the watch

Swipe left

Click Timer

Select Countdown

Add timer [for a few seconds]

Wait till it finishes and see if it vibrates

Upgrading has risks of breaking other things, so proceed with caution. Check forums first.

Hope that helps

I'm having a similar issue. Samsung 9+ and last week got the update. Messages quit vibrating or going to the phone at all. Going through all of the same suggestions here and deleting the app and reinstalling, factory resetting the watch and repairing to the phone it still doesn't alert me to texts. It is now vibrating me to 3rd party apps of what's app and telegram, but will not give me a vibration to sms. They do come into the watch, but I do not get a vibration.

@jwbros @Tigslife Are your issues resolved with the latest Fitbit App 3.37.1? and phone and watch restarted after

Unfortunately no. Multiple restarts of each, all settings seem correct. Updating firmware is frustrating as the numbers don’t match, but the app tells me I am up to date and I can’t seem to force an update.

At a loss on where to go now.

Thought I shared this via screenshot earlier, must not have stuck. “Version 33.1.30” is what my app shows.

No wonder there are problems, it seems very old. What does your watch say?

Which doesn’t surprise me it is out of date. As mentioned in multiple posts, I am seemingly unable to force firmware updates. If they are connected and trying it is just sitting and spinning.

@jwbrosIt looks like the watch never received any updates from new.

@Guy_ my phone says 3.37.1. My versa shows 35.72.1.9.  If I check for up dates it tells me I'm up to date.

@Tigslife  You are up to date and it should be working fine, if you have restarted booth phone and watch?

That is interesting.

Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They can force you an update, they may be interested in your case because it has happened to others.

See my post on the issue It seems quite pointless having a check that returns the wrong answer.

@Guy_  vibrate works. I receive vibrations from telegram and what's app with no issues. The battery is full on my watch. It is only with text (sms) messages.
