Versa 2: notification and/or email when charging is complete

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Summary: As a user who wants to keep track of as many steps as possible, I would like to be notified when my Fitbit Versa 2 has finished charging.

Details: I already get a notification and an email when the battery is running low, so then I usually put the device on charge when I know I’m not going to move for a while. Trouble is, it’s easy to forget my Versa, since I so very rarely take it off, and then I risk missing some steps if I go out without it.

Solution: My phone is usually in range of my Versa while it’s charging, so if I remember, I can manually check the charge state by opening the app. This means that the required information is available for an exact notification of the fully charged state being reached. Alternatively, if the phone goes out of range, a pretty good estimate of charge state could be calculated, based on initial state of charge and elapsed time since charging started.

OK, software team, there’s your user story, let’s put it into the next sprint! 🙂

@OldManLink -

In the interim - I suspect a very long interim - may I suggest you do what I do?

I place my Versa 2 on the charger while I take my shower, whether it be one or two showers that day. I have found that the device rarely gets below 80% and is always at least at 98% and routinely at 100% when I put it back on my wrist within minutes of getting dressed.

And with the newer technology batteries, "memory issues" no longer come into play.

I agree, any time I set it aside to charge it, I end up forgetting. I always tell Alexa to remind me in 1:15 about the Versa 2. I'd love to get an email notification that it has finished charging. Or have it start buzzing or beeping!
