Versa 2, firmware 35.68.9.15
Constantly stops notification service.
-I have factory reset device,
-Unpaired and removed app,
-Reinstalled and paired again,
-Deleted storage and cache from app on phone
-Unpaired, paired bluetooth
Moto Z3 play
There is no excuse at this point that Fitbit cannot get it together with this product.
There have been many, many posts on this issue with no clear fix or support other than linking to a troubleshooting post. This needs to run as a separate service and be able to reconnect to bluetooth if connection fades automatically,
I've had this watch for 2 weeks, this is the reason I chose this watch,it is becoming a pain with the notifications it seems to work for a day or two and then stops, I have tried everything suggested to alleviate this issue.
Also heart rate is unreliable while working out, it seems to be fine when I'm not being active but during any type of workout it is way off on heart rate, usually showing 30-5- bpm less than what it should be .
Again, I have tried all suggestions from troubleshooting post and it is unreliable.
Fitbit, it's time to throw some money and developers at these issues and come out with a proper firmware update!

This usually has to do with permission settings on the os.
Sometimes it is because the app doesn't have permission to run in the background or the battery management shuts the app down when moved to the background.
I noticed you mention a Moto Z3 which is a phone that either has not been tested or not officially supported and your experience may vary.

Thanks for the tip, I realize that there are many different phones with hardware, but I would think it's reasonable for testing to be done on most of all devices released within the past two years. I mean Fitbit is selling these watches at $200 a pop, I'm sure they can do some more elaborate testing before releasing a product that doesn't do reliably what they advertise.
Hopefully the saving grace will be Google now, but I'm doubtful they even care about current products that have been released by Fitbit and are going to concentrate on new products going forward.
Android 9
I have all permissions and battery saver is turned off.

Ok, well I updated to the latest firmware yeterday 35.70.7.14
Problem persists, worked fine this morning till about 2 o'clock and then got the same message, Notification service not running, restart phone.
This is absolutely ridiculous!
I've had smart watches before this and NEVER had this issue pushing notifications.
Fitbit, get on the ball!

Also as a side effect to new firmware, the sync to app is unreliable now too. I'ts been taking up to 2 hours for update stats to app. I hit sync manually and it takes up to ten minutes.

Same exact problems since purchasing versa 2 last week. All the troubleshooting has been done and still a few hours later back to the beginning all over again! Support is polite but problems not fixed- and yes the phone and app setting are correct. I have had three fitbits (still using ionic with another phone) and never had problems like this.

sleep tracking is now showing basic info since FW upgrade, it will not sync stats from phone to app reliably!

I have an iPhone 8 with same issues. 30 min online with Fitbit support to verify all my options were correctly set to be told it is a known issue with no timeframe for correction update. EXTREMELY frustrating as one of the reasons purchased was for the text alerts.

Well I troubleshooted the heck out of this issue with my phones bluetooth settings.
I enabled developer mode on phone to change some bluetooth settings and after changing Bluetooth AVRCP version from 1.4 to 1.6 it seems to have alleviated this issue, (at least it seems) , the notifications service will occasionally stop randomly still, but at least now it is able to auto negotiate it's connection again without having to clear storage and cache on Fitbit app. I't has been working for 4 days so far without issue.
Not sure what exactly it did as the AVRCP seems more to do with the media controls support.

Well this fix did not resolve the problem with changing bluetooth settings on phone.
The notification service is still unreliable and only way I can fix is to clear app data and sign back in and set everything back up again, also this messes with the card pay option and it keeps forgetting the passcode on watch. FITBIT, get it together, it's been months with this issue and any update to fix just causes more problems.
