Versa 2 notifications on samsung s7 edge

Hi, I've just gotten the fitbit versa 2 and I'm struggling to get text and phone notifications on my fitbit. I've checked the list of compatible phones and a Samsung galaxy s7 edge is one. I've made sure my app and Android steps are up to date and my vibrate settings are on tested with an alarm. My fitbit is sending me hourly step reminders so my notifications are on. I've impaired the device from Bluetooth and the app still to go avail and more bizarrely I get a notification on my versa of a missed phone call but not when it's ringing and no text message notifications. Can anybody help? Thanks

I have the same problem with live call notifications, but I am getting the text message notifications. 

1. What message app are you using?

2. Do you have the app set as the default messaging app within the fitbit app? (My account --> versa 2 (in devices) --> notifications --> text messages)

3.On your s7, make sure notifications are enabled for your messaging app in settings -->notifications --> messaging app.
