Versa 2- of course its not swiping and warranty is off. Should I get another?

Not sure if my previous message went thru- but I have a versa 2 that no longer swipes, and despite doing all the self fixes with chat, it is not working. Of course it is out of warranty ( 14 mos). So..my question.... I don't want to buy a watch that only last 14 mos. I've had others that lasted years.  Do I take a risk and buy another versa 2?  Or try versa 3? They've offered a discount on another fitness watch, but how do I know the next watch wont break at 14 months? It's inexcuseable. Your thoughts?

This can happen but doesn't necessarily mean its broken.

Restart the watch with the buttons

If you go through community forums for versa 2 and Versa 3, you'll see hundreds of posts complaining about their devices - I am one of them! I have had 2 trackers in 12 months - charge 3 which lasted 11 months and then used 50% discount to buy Versa 2 which is now rendered useless after the latest update after only 6 weeks of use. Fitbit has neither acknowledged nor said if and when a fix will be released. So there is no way I am spending any more money on Fitbits. Please go through threads and you'll see people leaving Fitbit in scores.

If fitbit cant fix the issue, then they should replace the watch, even if its off warranty.  OR make a disclaimer that these watches have a life of 16 months max, no longer. And then let the public decide. You'd think they'd put out a notice regarding the issue and how to fix it, .like many tech companies do. So, is this just planned obsolescence? Fine. Then charge $50 for the watch. Not $200.
