Versa 2, one year Warranty?

I just received an email response to my inquiry regarding the faceplate of my Versa 2 dislodging and the screen looks like "snow", the sliver of tape securing the screen clearly is defective.
My question is why is my warranty up in a year yet:

Limited Product Warranty

LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY FOR NEW PRODUCTS

Fitbit warrants to the original purchaser that your Fitbit-branded device and accessories that are new (the "New Product(s)") shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase, except that if you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) and you purchased your Fitbit
I have read several complaints regarding this issue and yet it goes unresolved?
I received this as a gift from my daughter and I'm really disappointed and saddened.  I've had the watch for 16 months, this is unacceptable for a "high end" product. I'm pretty sure my daughter had to save to make this purchase, shame on Fitbit for such poor customer service.
I have never submerged it in any kind of water, not even the shower.
This watch clearly was defective, with poor workmanship and materials.
I know Fitbit is aware of this issue and 35% towards the purchase of a product that will not last 16 months seems insufficient.

I understand your disappointment … and this is probably not the answer you are looking for … but in the US, a one year warranty is standard on almost everything unless you purchase an extended warranty.

For what it’s worth, I make most of my purchases on my AmExp card because they automatically double the warranty on most purchases. Maybe check with your credit card company.
