Versa 2 receives multiple calendar events

This has been happening since I got my Versa 2, just over 3 months ago.   Holiday calendar reminders (coming from my Apple calendar) in particular give me numerous pop ups on my watch.   Today alone I had FIFTEEN separate pop ups on my watch reminding me that tax day is tomorrow over the course of about 2.5 hours. Some would come seconds apart; some minutes apart.  Every other forum post that’s been “answered” suggested disabling the calendar sync up altogether. That’s not really an option for me as there are other calendar events that I DO want reminders for.  

fitbit has said numerous times they are “working” on fixing it .....2 years ago.... how can i stop this from happening? I wouldn’t care if it only popped up twice or three times, but fifteen buzzes over the course of a morning is highly disruptive when I’m working or mid activity.
