Versa 2 recording walks 3 times! Help?

Hello,

I was hoping someone can please help, my fit bit appears to be duplicating activities and I am unsure whether it is double counting calories and steps too!

I have a fit bit versa 2 and using an Android phone - Samsung Note 9.

Issue:

Walks are recording twice. Before each walk, I use the fitbit to turn on the exercise "walk" and I also, on my mobile phone, turn on the Strava app. Strava is synced to my fitbit. At the end of every walk, I noticed the walk activity records twice (with different distances, one from strava app and the other via the fit bit by stride length). Steps didnt seem to double count but not so sure about calories.

Yesterday I found the GPS function in the fitbit app so I turned that on, and now my exercise "walk" is recording 3 times! 3 different distances and 3 different times....the original first 2 then an additional record with a map.

Does anyone know why it is doing that?

Thanks so much!

You already answered your question @makkurokuroneko

You manually started your walk recording from your wrist. This is one recording.

You manually attested your walk recording through the Fitbit app on the phone. This is your Second walk recording.

You have your Strava account connected to your Fitbit account and manually started your recording through the Strava app.

During the next sync, the Strava recording was sent to Fitbit.

These are your 3 walk recordings you now see.

You may remove 2 of them.

For the next walk, choose only one of the 3 ways to record your walk.

Have you checked your Strava account?  At least 1 of your Fitbit recorded walks should also show up in Strava as a second recording.

Hi Rich_Laue

Thank you so much! I checked strava (i normally check it immediately after the activity is over and havent checked it since), you are right so it has! Thank you! Im new at this!

Question - the reason why i recorded it twice was because (i thought i needed to set it on the fitbit the "walk" function) to register and i start the strava app via phone because it had the map.

Now that i figured out how to set the GPS on fit bit to show the map, if I dont sign in on strava wont it still show twice?

I noticed if i dont select the "walk" activity it doesnt record calories correctly. How do i rectify this (ie start on the watch and have it both auto record the map and walk in one entry).

Also with the 3 entries does this mean steps and calories are counted 3 times? I noticed my steps are not but not sure about calories. The heart rate syncs and auto applies the same across all 3 activities. Distances across the 3 entries are also different...

Thanks soo much for your helpful answer!
