Hi! Every morning I cycle to work and when I do so, I select -> training -> bike to avoid that the Fitbit will count steps. Unfortunately, the Fitbit it still counting steps. Around 1.500 for a distance of 3km, which is pretty much. My syncing device is a IPhone 7. When I try to change the minutes that I cycled to ‘car driving’ (Fitbit does suggest that in the help guide) or to add an activity for the minutes that the Fitbit counted steps, this doesn’t work. I can only add activities that were previously registered, for example bike. If I change the minutes to bike, this does not change anything in the amount of steps. Who can help? Short summary: the Fitbit is counting steps if I register a training on bike and I can’t change it into any other activity than my last registered ones. Thanks!

Hi @Marjoooo You have hit on a problem that there is no real solution to. The steps counted when you cycle are due to bumps and jolts as you ride. The better the road surface and the softer your tires the less steps you will get. You get these steps whether you use auto detect or start and stop the cycling activity using the exercise shortcut.
The 'Driving' activity will remove the steps but it will also remove your cycling activity, so it is no use in this situation. In short there is nothing you can do about any steps counted while you cycle. I used to worry about them and feel like they were not real steps, but nowadays I just accept them as part of life. After all if I walked for half an hour instead of cycling for half an hour I would get more steps than I do on the bike, so just think of them as my due!
