Versa 2 screen and battery issues after swimming

My screen suddenly turned black on Saturday after my swim, it recorded my swim data as this came up on my phone app. (iOS apple iPhone 11) 
Since I have tried all the suggestions on the forum (full charge / restart/ change the clock face ) and followed suggestions in the mannual (online) and via Fitbit Twitter feed. 
Also the watch (versa 2) is only holding charge for approx 12 hours so is having to be recharged twice daily as well since the screen went black. Prior to Saturday I had no issues with my versa 2.
