Versa 2 screen and battery issues after the update

Since the last update my battery was draining super fast.  Read that I shouldn't charge overnight so stopped doing that and seems to have resolved that issue.  Then my screen was super dim.  Saw I should use a Fitbit clock so updated to one of theirs and it was okay for a day.  Now the screen is so dark I can't see anything.  I tried the restart, but still so dim that I can't see anything.  Is it possible to undo the last update?  I don't want to have to get a new watch if this is going to be an ongoing issue.  Any ideas on how to be able to use my watch again?

Hi there @Carrie8989, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. We acknowledge the limitation we have on our part particularly on what you have experienced. We‘re taking into consideration your comments and sentiments with regards to our products and services.

Please note there's no way to roll back the firmware update on your watch. However, I agree with @Guy_, as it seems that your Versa 2 may be in sleep mode. Try checking the settings as he has suggested you and see how it goes.

Regarding the battery life, as you may know, it should last up to 6 days. However, as with other electronic devices, the battery will depend on the features and how often they're used, such as the GPS, Spotify app or the Always-On display. While this doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, please take into consideration the conditions that impact your watch's battery.

That being said, I'd recommend to change the clock face to one designed by Fitbit and please confirm if you've followed the tips and recommendations to maximize your watch's battery life described here. You can also check What are some tips for charging my Fitbit device?

Its true the last update introduced some problems, but for now

You probably have enabled sleep mode.

If you can

On the watch

Swipe down once from the very top

It will show your notifications

Swipe down again from the very top

Click on the two white bars to get to Quick Settings

Make sure the 2 top icons are greyed out

To fix your battery issue, do

Shut down the watch

[ Swipe left, Settings,

at the bottom, About,

at the bottom, Shutdown]

Yes

wait a minute

Start the watch

[Hold the button a few seconds

till it vibrates or logo appears]

Wait for the clock to reappear.

As for charging, charge when you want.

Its good to wear it at night so it measures your sleep.

See how it goes

Thank you for the information.  Unfortunately the screen is so dim I am not able to see the menus to change any if the settings.  Seems I have a completely junk device now.  Not sure how Fitbit can know that their update "broke" so many devices and is basically saying yep, our bad, but nothing we can do.  Doesn't boad well for keeping satisfied customers.  I develop and deploy code for my job and we always have to have a rollback plan in the event our updates cause issues or we get a follow-up upfate rolled out to fix what we broke.

Hi

Is the screen actually black with nothing visible?

Of you plug the charger with Versa 2 in it, into a PC port does the PC recognise something is plugged in with a sound?

If so, its present and charging, after an hour try and start it by holding the button for 3 or 4 seconds.
