phone and fitbit got wet in hail/rain storm yesterday. Fitbit stuck on "add a wallet screen" I've attempted to reset to no avail. This is infuriating

As a first approach, please follow @Guy_'s tips and recommendations.
Nevertheless, if your Versa 2 got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your watch has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth. Be sure to follow our Wear and Care instructions to keep your device clean.
Water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:
If the restart doesn't work either and your watch hasn't vibrated for the restart process, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

Hi @JodyGo - firstly make sure both are dry then hold the watch button for 10 seconds continuously until it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start.
Then make sure that the watch syncs with the Fitbit app and if necessary change the clock face from the Gallery tile.
