Versa 2 screen popped off and get separated from watch

I purchased my Versa 2 just over one year ago in April, 2020. I barely wore it because I've been very ill for the last 6 mo but just put it back on. Out of the blue, while I was standing not moving, the screen just separated from the body of the watch leaving just a thin wire holding it attached. I instinctively popped it back in but now it will not start and it continually pops off again.  The watch is clearly broken. I googled this, its a known issue with other support threads dating back to 2019. I contacted support who will do nothing for me as the warranty is over by 2 months. This is ridiculous for a $200+ watch. I'm fed up and moving to Garmin.
