Since owning the Versa 2 for 2 weeks, when I'm outside the screen is very dim and unreadable. I have looked at sleep mode/auto dim settings- Max normal and Dim nothing fixes this. Can the auto light adjustment be turned off and I manually control my Versa 2 brightness settings? it really is impacting my experience and use of the smart watch.

Exactly the same scenario/situation with my Charge 3 (also a replacement after the first one had screen interference and couldn't be read). I agree the recent products are of poor quality. Going to move on.

Having same issue with my versa 2. 1 year old and it has suddenly started to have an incredibly dim screen outside. Have tried all fixes and restarts, settings etc and nothing has made it better. Very frustrating….

It’s good to see you in the community, @cspatrick and @dnw2001.
@dnw2001 Thank you for sharing your experience. I am glad to hear you don't have problems with your new device and hope you continue enjoying the Fitbit experience.
@cspatrick Thank you for joining the thread and sharing that you're experiencing the same issue with your watch. I am sorry to hear about the frustration this situation has caused. I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and recommend confirming if you've tried the following:
1. Confirm that the sleep mode setting is turned off. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?
2. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
3. Switch to a Fitbit clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
Hope this helps.

Hi @BrunoOlivera - if your problem is the screen is dim, it could simply be in sleep mode. Pull down from the top edge, as if to see notifications, and pull down again and click on the 2 white bars to get to Quick Settings and turn off sleep [and do not disturb] if it is on.

@BrunoOlivera - if you have set the brightness correctly in the watch Settings, try a restart of the watch, and even changing clock face to check it's not a clock face issue.

Yes Agreed. Does not recommend to buy this brand....
Fitbit has a common issue on screen dim. mine is charge 3 (viewed many online forum beside this...) think cahrge 4 too . My screen also started fading just after one year. I look up Fitbit community and do as suggested change from auto to normal etc but it seemed didnt work. then subsequently faded totally cant see the screen, and some others issue slowly occurred. I contacted fitbit support center. This is the response I got after troubleshoot and no able to resolve:
Although your device is outside the scope of Fitbit's warranty terms, we want to offer you a discount on a new Fitbit device.
And found similar offered in the many of the community
""…Although this isn’t eligible for replacement since the warranty is already expired, we want to keep you in the Fitbit family and working toward your goals. Please accept a discount toward the purchase of any one of the devices on fitbit.com""
It seemed defect product was sold and we Consumer ABSORBED the cost of Defect and Fibit then come in as good will offered you a so called good gesture…instead of fixing the product defect they offer you discount to BUY again (sales profit). We are paying for the DEFECT and then Fitbit GAIN AGAIN from the sales…. How good is the marketing n sales strategy…It may have less than a second glad i'm going to have new watch/tracker but instanly felt being fooled. and true enought checking on others review of charge 4, versa etc has the same issue. so , IF accepted the OFFER WITH DISCOUNT TO "so call trade"" new one BUT eventually go into another cycle again and again where the gadget will have the same COMMON issue but yet not fix permanently. SO< QUESTION do i wan to go into another cycle of same old issues????
Shame on you…yes many in community share the same thoughts!!!

resetting, restarting, rebooting, nothing fixes the problem for me. it must be a hardware issue. as some else in this thread pointed out, the sensor on the watch is malfunctioning. in bright daylight the screen goes so dim you cannot see it which makes it useless for tracking outdoor exercise. screen brightens up when i go back indoors. i called tech support twice, the techs claim they have not heard of this problem but i told them to check the fitbit community website as it seems several people have this problem. changing the clock face does not work either. tech says they will escalate the issue up the chain of command. maybe if enough people complain fitbit will address the issue. i am considering purchasing a different brand of smart watch since my fitbit is useless when i exercise outdoors and now that the weather is getting cooler here i will be outside more.

I’ve tried restarting my Fitbit verse 2, checked the settings making sure the brightness is not on dim & still unreadable outdoors. I tried turning off Bluetooth & turning on again, still doesn’t become bright? It’s been happening for the last week & a half?
