Since owning the Versa 2 for 2 weeks, when I'm outside the screen is very dim and unreadable. I have looked at sleep mode/auto dim settings- Max normal and Dim nothing fixes this. Can the auto light adjustment be turned off and I manually control my Versa 2 brightness settings? it really is impacting my experience and use of the smart watch.

How do you do that?

I am having the same issue with my Versa 2. I have it less then 2 weeks. It has been fine until now. I upgraded from a versa 1 when it got damaged. I do not like the auto brightness option and regret buying the versa 2. Is there a working solution for the dimming problem or do I need to return it for a new one? Thanks

Ok thanks. I bought from Amazonso have initiated a return and once I get my credit, think I’ll be buying the versa 1 instead. Loved that one and never had any issues. Battery seemed to last longer too!

Alejandra,
I am having the same problem with my Versa 2. It operated well from Christmas until last week. It is now unreadable outside - display is way too dim. I checked all of the settings - they're as recommended. I did several soft resets (hold down button for 8 seconds). And many power downs. These had no effect. So I tried to do them again -that is, reset many times.. And tried Dim - Max instead of Normal.
Finally, I did Factory Reset. Set up again with the app.
SCREEN IS STILL UNREADABLE OUTSIDE.
Please help.

My Versa 2 has the same problem. I have set to Max yet it looks the same as dim. I've reset etc. Still dim. All three options of Dim, Normal and Max look the same. I am so disappointed.

I was able to get a replacement from Fitbit, and it's working wonderfully.
Before the replacement arrived, my screen went from dark to having lines
and no display. So it was on its way out.

Does the Versa 1 allow you to keep display on all the time? Everything I read said that feature is only available on Versa 2? With all the issues I see on the display dimness - which is a huge issue on the Inspire HR which i just got and hate it when running outside - I am at a loss on whether there is a model that will meet these 2 basic criteria that I have.

so, its 2020, ive had my watch about a year. i had this issue at first but when i switched to a different phone i never had the issue again... recently there was a firmware update. now i have this issue again. but also, i just went from my oneplus phone back to an lg V series phone. when i had this issue last time. i had a V series by lg also. didnt have any issues with my oneplus and the versa 2 going dim
strange?
its like it gets stuck on the auto brighten when it wakes. or when it dims to pull down the quick menu. .. . not sure what the cause is but i feel like the versa 2 gets "stuck"
they just started the process to send me out a new one. a year later and fitbit still has no resolve?

I am having this same issue. This is my replacement Fitbit versa 2 after the first one I had the screen just stopped working. I received a replacement and now after a month this one is so dim its unusable outside during sunlight. Is there multiple issues with this type of Fitbit? I would appreciate help if there is a fix for this.
thanks

Did you get this resolved? I've had my versa 2 for about 4 months and it is doing the same thing - very dim screen all the time. And this is after having a Versa 1 that died, which was then replaced by Fitbit with another Versa 1, and the replacement died. Fitbit wouldn't replace or refund the replacement so I bought the Versa 2. I'm tired of this. This product appears to be poorly made and keeps breaking. Did you get your situation resolved??

I've had my versa 2 for about 4 months and it is doing the same thing - very dim screen all the time. In fact, today, it started to actually have a screen that was simply scrambling/white noise bars floating across the screen. And this is after having a Versa 1 that died, which was then replaced by Fitbit with another Versa 1 (from the warranty), and the replacement died. Fitbit wouldn't replace or refund the replacement (even though it died in less than a year) so I bought the Versa 2. And now that has died, too. I'm very tired of this. I have been loyal Fitbit user since early 2016, but I am about done. Fitbit products appears to be poorly made and keep breaking. They are not made for use longer than a few months.

I have the exact same issue with my Charge 3. It's prettty much useless when I am outside. They have not come up with any solution for this issue, only 2 offer me a 35% discount on a new FitBit. I have been using their products for many years. Think it's time to try something more reliable.
