Versa 2 showing high heart rate readings after the update

Is anyone else having a problem with the heart rate after the update? After the update it shows high spikes in my heart rate from every night around the same time. It doesn't show on my regular heart rate graph but it shows on the zone minutes heart rate graph. It doesn't show if I log my sleep as exercise either. Just on the zone minutes heart rate graph.

Hi there @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post, I'll be glad to help you with the heart rate monitor of your Versa 2 after the update.

Please note that heart-rate tracking can be affected by several factors including air temperature and device location on your arm For more information, see: What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

Also, keep in mind that in the latest update you can now earn Active Zone Minutes and use personalized heart-rate zones when you track activity with your smartwatch. For more information, see What are Active Zone Minutes or active minutes on my Fitbit device? and How do I track my heart rate with my Fitbit device?

Give this a go and let me know if the issue persists.

I took a picture of my zone minutes heart rate graph this morning and again just now. My heart rate this morning did not have a spike in it from last night and when I looked at it just now it shows one. So something is definitely not right.

Everything looks normal when I look at it in the morning and then when I look at it later on in the day or will show a spike in the the middle of the night.

It's literally adding spikes to my overnight heart rate graph! I've restarted it and it still does it. It's been doing it since I did the update. I've went back and looked at previous days and it has added huge spikes every night that weren't there before! As you can see from the pictures there was no spike in the morning and then when I looked at it this evening it has a spike going up to 121bpm when this morning it shows my heart rate never got above 74. I've actually logged my sleep as exercise to see if the spikes show up in that graph and it doesn't. So none of the things you listed are going to fix this. Again, I never had this problem until the update.

Mine has spiked to a huge number at t6:15 two days each after the latest update. I want to roll back to previous version. How do I do that? It scared the daylights out of me.

Yep me too! I thought omg! What's wrong with me??? I've went back and looked at all my sleeping graphs for the last couple months and it's added high spikes in them that weren't there before. It's total bs because #1. If my heart rate was to jump to 142 or so I would definitely know it! #2. If it were truly spiking it would show upon my other graphs and its not. Like I said I've logged my sleep as exercise so I  could look at that heart rate graph and it has zero spikes in it! Also, on my restoration sleep graph it has zero spikes in it for the exact same time as the zone minutes has them.

Same here. Ever since the update I’m having strange spikes in the middle of the night. Nothing on my reg tracker or sleep tracker. My resting hr has gone from 60 to 66 since the update. Fix this?

Mine is the exact same way!! In the same spot! If you look at first thing in the morning it’s not there and then later boom there it is... it makes no sense.

Yup. Totally messing up my resting heart rate. I wanted to upgrade to the 3 from the versa 2, but now I don’t know.

Same here and customer service is no help either.

Yup. I tried that route too. I work in IT and know what’s what. It’s a firmware issue that focused on the 3 and sense. Everyone with anything less is out. I bought an Apple Watch today. Done with Fitbit.

That’s so funny because I went on Verizon last night to upgrade my phone and I got to add on an Apple Watch for $99 . So I ordered one aslo.  Kinda glad I did too because last night my Fitbit decided that it didn’t want to track anything and this morning I had to sync and unsync it 3 times before it decided to work. It kinda sucks that I pay 179 for watch that doesn’t provide correct info and then I pay an extra 9.99 a month for it to give me more incorrect info. It’s almost laughable at this point.  I’ve been a loyal Fitbit wearer for over 5 years and I’m truly done. To bad they lost a good customer and for a lot of years I bragged their products up to anyone and everyone. See ya Fitbit.

(Super late to the party!!) I’m so happy I came across this post! I went to look at my zones this afternoon and it recorded a spike of 155 (!!) at 1:30 am. SHOCKED ME! So I went back to previous days and it shows the same... spikes at/around 1:15 every night. My other graphs don’t reflect any spikes AT ALL so I was baffled.

Its reassuring to see that it isn’t my body exploding every night at the same time!

Also grateful I don’t need to call the doctor!!!! WTH!

Woah... same here!! My spikes are showing up at 1249 am but only the night before I exercise. So weird and clearly hasn’t been fixed yet. It’s April 2021.

Still having this problem. Customer service told me it’s not a problem they are aware anyone else has experienced.
