Versa 2 showing incorrect distance on run

Just bought a versa 2 four days back, went to a park run yesterday (5k) started the run slightly (seconds) late from the versa screen and stopped it a couple of seconds late as well - but the distance is showing as 5.89 k which I am pretty sure wouldn't happen at a well established parkrun when Paul Sinton Hewitt (the founder of parkrun) was in attendance.  Any ideas please
