Our fitbits malfunctioned around the same time. My Fitbit says data not cleared and to sync and try again. I retried many times. It would take hours to load on the watch. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Should I contact fit bit? This is on the versa 2.

Seems like this is a common issue. Possibly due to a recent Fitbit update for iPhone, if it was working before.
In which case its probably best to inform Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.
