Versa 2 stopped during update and won't turn back on

I attempted to apply the latest update this morning.

After the app told me the update was starting over wife I noticed the FB icon display on the tracker. Then the screen went dark. It never came back on again nor will it turn on using the button.

after quite a while the app notified me the update failed and is asked me to retry over Bluetooth but the tracker is still out cold.

@Skattch, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa 2 since it won't turn on.

In order to fix this issue, please try a factory reset. To do so on your device, try the steps below:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates they initiated the factory reset.

After this, run the firmware update again and see if it gets completed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

He said it wouldn't turn ON. I am having a similar problem. After the update why Fitbit wouldnt charge and it died. I have it on the charger but it wont light up. Pressing the button doesnt help either.

@bex505, I'm sorry for the late response. However, I'd like to follow up on the issue that your Fitbit Versa 2 is experiencing since it won't turn on either. I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved and the correction about my confusion on my previous post.

I would like to know if your watch vibrates when you put it on the charger.

In the meantime, try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. This article may contain steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest.

Let me know how it goes.

Hello,

I am sorry for not responding. I was able to resolve the issue and got busy but that is no excuse for my rudeness.

As it turns out, I was able to get it to turn back on after holding the button down for 20+ seconds. After that it updated and has been working fine.

One small suggestion is it would have saved you some time had I been able to update or delete my post before your response but I was unable to do either. Had I been able to I would have updated the status then.

Again, my thanks and apologies.

This just happened to me and was under warranty so Fitbit replaced it.

Same issue.  Versa 2 froze after failed update.  Will not give me anything but the fit bit logo. Tried a reset. Didn't work. Tried the factory reset listed above. Didn't work. Does not vibrate when put on charger and did not vibrate when tried the factory reset. Any suggestions?
