Hello,
I am writing not to look for a solution (because I have resigned myself to the fact that there is none) but to alert you to an issue that must be fixed in the next app update. I bought my Versa 2 in November and the notifications worked perfectly. I have a Galaxy S10 with Android Version 10 and Kernel Version 4.14.117. I did not have any issues until the most recent app update on Google Play. After that update, EVERY single notification continued to work perfectly except for text messages (the default Samsung message app). I have done everything on the following list MANY times over the last few weeks to try and fix this:
1. Force close the app
2. Clear the app cache
3. Uninstall/reinstall the app
4. Restart my phone
5. Restart the Versa 2
6. Shutdown and restart the Versa 2
7. Remove any non-default Fitbit apps I had added
8. Turned every different combination of notifications on/off in every screen possible
9. Changed my default message notification to Whatsapp and selected Messages as it's own app under notifications
10. Reconnected Bluetooth
11. Unlink/Relink my device
12. Ensured my texts were set up correctly on my phone to relay to the watch
13. Reset network settings
14. Reconnected to Wifi
15. BOUGHT A NEW VERSA 2 in case my original was faulty
None of this works. I have read every article available on this website, every suggestion put forth by users/moderators, and read Tech website suggestions. I do not need any suggestions as to what to try next because as you can see, I am not new to tech and I have tried everything. I just want it to be acknowledged that something is amiss and just like you are trying to fix the updates for the latest iOS update, this should be examined as well. From what I can tell from other threads, articles, and my sister's device issues, this isn't just me.
Thank you for your time.

GOOD AFTERNOON! @MEC118 It appears that as of today it has been a whole month since the app did an update and fitbit still has no solution to fixing the notification problems that everyone is experiencing. We all have paid good money for a smart watch that is useless at this point! Your IT department has failed us all. It wouldn't suprise me to see your companies sales drop due to this issue that is now 30 days in with no solution!

I have heard the same story for the past 30 days and nothing is being done. I too have done everything, short of throwing piece of crap against the wall!!!! How does it take over 30 days to fix a notification issue??? I wish I would have done more research and found something more reliable than this joke of a smart watch!! Would never recommend fitbit to ANYONE!!!

Hi Juan
Thank you for your response. I wanted to provide you with an update. When I opened the Fitbit app last week, I got a notice that I could update my watch software (not the app, but the 20ish minute update to the watch software itself). The update occured and I instantly started getting text message notifications for the first time in a month. I didn't change one setting, it was simply the software version update.
My joy was short lived as the text messages stopped out of the blue yet again on Sunday. I tried all the steps again that I had noted in my original post (except buying a new watch) and the messages still fail to come through.
So please let the development team know that while whatever software update was done was on the right track, it's not quite there.
Thank you.

Thank you for your detailed post!!! YES to this ☝️ - major issues with the Versa 2 and Samsung S10 not playing working well together. I echo absolutely everything in the original post and the incredible frustration with Fitbit's inability to resolve this issue in a timely manner. It's been two months with a smart watch that doesn't notify for anything beyond steps, which is frustrating. Please update the Android app with a fix ASAP. Last reinstalled and sync'd the Fitbit update on 2/10/2020, and still no notifications on the S10.
