Versa 2 stopped tracking any sleep patterns over a week ago

I've had my versa 2 for a couple years now and while I've had some problems with it I've never gotten to the point of thinking about getting rid of it until now. The main reason I've kept it so long is I liked that it tracked my sleep patterns. Or at least it used to. I've been noticing more and more frequently it has trouble accurately tracking my sleep, or even not doing it at all. I'll sync it up and to try to keep things accurate but that has helped less and less. Now, I noticed that as of a week ago it just stopped keeping track of sleep altogether. I've scoured the forums here and tried various results. The most common one is copied below**, which is absolutely of no help whatsoever and the Mods that post it I swear are just copy/pasting it as a catchall that is somehow the answer to everything. Besides doing what's below I've tried unpairing and repairing (a huge pain with Pixel 6 pro since it REALLY doesn't want to repair up again), turning both devices off and on again, uninstalling and reinstalling the app just in case, resetting and rechecking the settings, none of which seemed to help in the least. Is there anything I can do, or am I done with fitbit for life and should find something new?

**Hi there, (NAME). Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 2.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

With that in mind, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
If you slept for less than 3 hours.
If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope this helps.

This does not help and I don't know why it's the "Best Answer" for so many posts that have a lot of people claiming it hasn't helped them.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Dariusdracos.

Thank you for informing us about the issues you experienced with your Fitbit Versa 2 and for the troubleshooting steps you’ve performed.

If your Fitbit account only shows a sleep pattern (time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages (light sleep, deep sleep, and REM), please visit this article, open the menu "Why don't I see sleep stages today?" and follow the instructions.

In addition, you can turn heart-rate sensor off and back on. You can find instructions on how to navigate your Tracker here.

Some users have had success setting their Fitbit devices to track sleep in a sensitive mode. For information about how this setting works, please visit this site and open the menu "What's the difference between the normal and sensitive sleep setting?".

Hope this helps.

I appreciate your reply @EdsonFitbit  but my fitbit stopped tracking sleep altogether, as I stated above. As in no information at all since May 29th. It just stopped. The watch, different apps, step counter, all of that is working fine. The sleep counter and bpm just stopped working for some reason.

I know how to find the settings although I appreciate your link nonetheless. However turning the heart monitor off and on again has also done nothing.

And lastly I turned my fitbit's sleep setting to sensitive a couple days ago. Still no data.

Both functions only show -- where numbers should be. It is most frustrating.

This is also happening to me. I think it's because my Versa 2 has stopped tracking my heart rate. I contacted support a couple weeks ago and they helped me do a reset of my device and it fixed the problem...and then it stopped tracking my heart rate and sleep again. Now I have to reset my Versa 2 multiple times per day. The reset is just a band-aid.

I gave this a bit of time to try the methods provided by the chat support techs I talked to. The only thing they offered to do was to factory reset it, something that wouldn't work via buttons but did via settings. After resetting everything and resyncing it with the app the sleep and heart function started to work for a day and a half, then quickly resumed not working at all. Further resets did nothing. Beyond that the only thing the chat techs were willing to offer was a 35% discount on a new fitbit that could only be applied at fitbit dot com. A discount by the way that no fitbit I tried to buy had any place for me to put it. So all in all, it was a worthless gesture. I'm done with fitbit and their utterly useless and lackluster attempts to fix this problem. As far as I can see, there is no solution beyond them wanting you to buy a new one. For all I know it was forced obsolescence after that last recent update.
