My Versa 2 stopped tracking my sleep and heart rate in January 2024. I've done everything I can think of to get it restarted but no luck.  Any ideas?

Hi @prlegl - if you have toggled the heart rate setting in watch settings, restarted it and factory reset it without success then the watch has become defective, possibly from water getting in, may be gradually.

You may have other issues withe the touch screen or button. If it gets hot while charging stop immediately.

If it's under warranty it can be replaced.

Hi there, @prlegl. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 is still not tracking your heart rate nor your sleep stages data. We're here to help!

Have you checked the heart rate settings as suggested by @Guy_?

I'd recommend trying the following steps to make sure your heart rate is working:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your Fitbit device, from the main screen of your Versa 2, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Versa 2. To do so, from the Today tab, tap Devices > device image. Tap Sync Now
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your Fitbit device once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your watch once again.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Bear in mind that if your heart rate is not working, your sleep stages won't too as this data is calculated by your heart rate readings.

With that being said, I suggest taking a look at this help article Why don't I see sleep stages today?
