Versa 2 stopped tracking my heart rate

I have had my versa 2 for 18 months now and been great but a few weeks ago the heart rate tracker stopped recording.

Any ideas why this is and how it can be fixed??

Hi there, @GordonN. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post. I understand where your concern is coming from.

As a first approach, I'd recommend following the steps below:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your watch, from the main screen of your watch, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Versa 2. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Versa 2's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your watch once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your watch.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

For more information, see What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

Hi Gordon, thanks for your question. I am having the same issue. The Fitbit done an update last week and since then my heart rate, steps, exercise goal hasn't been picked up by my Fitbit and is all greyed out. I have also tried the above but it's still greyed out

Best Answer

This does not resolve the issue.

I've got exactly the same problem. Stopped working last Thursday and tried the restart, resync,  factory reset. Nothing. Argh!

None of this worked. Did the new software update have something to do with this?

Sorry I can't remember as it was a while ago. I'm sure they went through
the reset and stuff I done but it worked for them

This worked for me, for one week and then it stopped working again. Now this trick won’t fix it.

I don't know if you're still having issues with your Versa 2, but I found a fix not mentioned here that helped me. Follow the steps, of course,  but if they don't work (like they didn't work for me, at first), also try turning your display to "Always On" (also in the settings menu) and retry the steps listed.
