Versa 2 stopped tracking my sleep score

My Versa 2 is not logging my sleep score anymore it has only done it 4 times.  I have only had it since Christmas.   I can sync it before I go to bed but once I select go to sleep the screen on my phone will only let me select Iam awake and then view your sleep activity but it doesn't have a sleep score.  I do all this on my phone.

Hi there, @Gazkelly. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 2.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

With that in mind, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope this helps.

I am also having the same issue since the latest update February 4. This is very frustrating since I pay what I think is a lot of money for the premium and I’m not getting any of the perks all of the sudden??? I have tried everything recommended I have pulled up other articles with recommendations. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have reset or restarted I mean my Fitbit. It is totally charged I have change the position I wear it in. I have taken off my sleep goals. I have changed from normal to sensitive to see if that would work. Nothing is working

There was an update a few days ago and I had hopes that it would fix the issue… Low and behold the next day I had a SleepScore! The last two days back to nothing… I have changed nothing… Not my sleep position not the way I wear my watch nothing… This Hass to be on the Fitbit end and it is very frustrating that I am paying premium and not getting HRV, breathing, etc

Had this same issue since April 23rd.  One time I shut down the old Versa2 and restarted right at bedtime.  Next day I got a score. Tried again the next night but got no score.  Since my Versa2 display had deteriorated, I bought a new Versa4 hoping the sleep score issue would also be resolved.  Ni such luck.  I called customer support and even though I fully explained this an an ongoing issue, their answer was that for new devices one needed to wait 3 days until the device could gather enough data to be able to track sleep stages.  They just wouldn't go any further so I'll have to call back in three days.

Have you checked to see if heart bpm is turned off?  I was having the same problem and then I read that to get a sleep score (an thus the sleep stages) Fitbit uses heart rate as part of the way to determine sleep stages.  I discovered it was turned off at the watch. I went to settings and scrolled down to Heart Rate and toggled it on. The next night I had a score and sleep stages.

I don't know why anyone associated with Fitbit always assumes the user isn't capable of "knowing" that an issue is with the device or the software.  It seems it always have to be the way the user is interacting with the device and not a device or software problem.
