Hi there, @AndyWilliams. Welcome to the Community Forums.

I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope this helps.

I have the same issue. Sleep stages just stopped about the same time as author. There was a pending update which I thought would fix the issue but versa is same after.

Please don't just repeat the same 'instructions' as it is not the answer.

Hi

I'm having the same issues since the update.  I have done all the troubleshooting and I mean all except for the factory reset.  The reason I won't do the factory reset is the last time I did I was never able and to connect to my phone again.  The new watch became useless.  That was when my Fitbit was new and they did an update at the beginning of the Covid lockdown my phone was older.  I got a new phone because I was due for one.  I'm not doing that again my phone is just over a year old. I'm not saying don't do it.  I hope if you do it solves the issue.  I'm just telling what happened to me.  The update is the common denominator both times for me. I'm also sorry if I hijacked someone's thread.  I'm not good at forums.  This is all disappointing.

Hi

I think I may have discovered the cause for no sleep stats - the heart rate monitor is not showing bpm.

How do I get it working again?

Looks like it was the heart rate monitor. Never noticed it has a setting on/off, maybe its new. Anyway check Versa watch is showing bpm, if not go to Settings on watch and scroll down to Heart Rate and tap to turn on. It should start showing bpm again ang you should get sleep score and usual stats.

Note: after I turned it back on and went into my sleep score this morning I got a notification saying 'Say hello to new Sleep Stages". So maybe it was the update that turned off the Heart Rate monitor after all!

Hi

I wish that worked for me but thanks for the info. I'm glad it did for
you. My heart rate was turned on in settings I did turn it off and on
again to check. The update killed my heart rate and sleep info.

I'm so dissapointed that Fitbit isn't owning this problem. It is so
obviously related to the update.

Thanks Again
