Versa 2 stopped tracking my sleep stages

A few months ago my Versa 2 sleep tracker stopped providing detailed view and gives me the "simplified view" . I reloaded everything a few times and it started working again randomly a week or so later. Just started happening again a few days ago. And I check my pulse rate is registering through the night, and it is. I have changed nothing else. Anyone have a fix for this? It seems to be related to software upgrade rollouts tho I can't get anyone at Fitbit to 'fess up to this.

Hi there, @Ember.Fenn. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2. I understand where your concern is coming from.

I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope this helps.

I did not change my sleep position and have not changed my fitbit position on my wrist, as it is where it is supposed to be. I also am tracking my pulse rate all night according to the app. No missing times. This is some random event that has happened before.
