Hi there, @Beagle67. Welcome to the Community Forums.

I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope this helps.

I stopped using the Begin Sleep Now option and just let the watch do it’s thing. Started working again for me. Thank you!

None of these worked for me. I had been getting consistent sleep data and then all of a sudden it stopped tracking. No change in how I wore it. I rebooted the watch and everything. What else can I do?

I have the same issue. Hasn't worked since Sept 2022. 😕 Wondering if anyone gives you any additional advice.

Hi!

I made sure that Location Services was on for the Fitbit app, and it seemed to work.

Good luck!

Mine has stopped too! It was fine until December and then it stopped tracking. Wearing and sleeping the same way as I was before.

My 1.5 year old versa 2’s green light started glitching the past 2.5 days and gave me periodic heart rate measurements and sleep data. 3 hours ago it completely stopped working after following marrefitbit’s suggestions turning the   Heart rate on/ off in settings. Tried the factory reset , didn’t work. Called customer service, they sent me 35% discount voucher for a new one. I’m gonna live without the heart rate / sleep data for another month, hopefully the Fitbit tech team can save this versa 2 with a software update! Before it goes to the landfill!

Same here! Except first, it stopped tracking steps and sleep. I restarted, removed and reinstalled the app a couple of times, and it finally started tracking steps, but no sleep.
