I researched getting in the pool with the versa 2, and it stated was ok.
Mine stopped working after getting it wet.
Does anyone have any recommendations to get it working again?
thanks

Hello @2022dkc
The Fitbit Versa 2 is rated swim-proof up to 50 meters. This means that the device should be just fine for a trip to the beach, pool workout, or daily shower. Since your Versa 2 is not responding place your Versa 2 in a bag of dry rice for for 24 hours to extract the moisture from inside the device.
I do hope the dry rice helps dry it out….let me know how it goes

Did the suggested solution work? Same thing has happened to mine.

I bought me and my husband matching Versa 2's because they say Swim Proof (up to 50 meters). Mine stopped working after I forgot to take it off when I washed my hair. It barely got wet. My husband's just stopped working a few days ago after he accidentally wore it while taking a shower. Needless to say both are outside the warranty so essentially Fitbit told me we are just SOL. I'm very upset. I tried rice and it didn't work for me either. If anyone finds a solution please let me know!

I was wondering also if it was an update that caused the issue too because I have showered before with mine and never had an issue. I showered in mind last night and this morning the screen was non responsive to the touch and going berserk. Then by the end of the work day I noticed the screen was black. However it captured my steps. It also showed the battery was dead when I never got a low battery warning. I placed it on the charger and it shows 100% full now and says it synced. Still the screen is black. Green light on the back flickers some times. I tried delete the clocks and add a new one but that didn’t work. Now it says it is looking for the device. Call support and they weren’t able to resolve the issue and says they will send me an email about my warranty. It is at least 3 years old so I know it is out of warranty. I am hoping another update would fix the problem!

Got mine wet to today for the first time. It didn’t die, but it froze. Now the battery goes dead in about three hours from a full charge. Pissed. It 1 month short of two years old.
Will be looking at other brands soon. Had a blaze that died in about two years as well.

Rice doesn’t work very well to dry any device that has gotten wet. Take it to a cell phone repair store that has a dehydrator and they can possibly save it much easier. If necessary they can replace the screen.

A dehydrator is a good idea, but don’t try it at home unless you want to risk ruining the device you put in if you don’t know what you are doing. Leave it to the pros as @Groomer said.
Rice is not best, but it is a decent drying agent. The problem is most water contains minerals and any drying will leave the minerals inside. In terms of absorption, here is how much moisture various substances absorb in a closed bag over an hour.

You might try using a hairdryer on a low heat setting & not too close up. Good luck!

Exactly same happened to mine today during lap swimming. I have this versa for over 2 years but always took off for swimming now I want to track my progress which is the main propose of the device and it’s unresponsive. Screen is black with 100% battery and won’t turn on.
Does anyone has update or how to make it work? It’s very upsetting.
Thanks
